During the liberation war of 1971, Pakistani occupation army led by General Yahya Khan and his colleagues in collaboration with the anti liberation forces (Jamat, Muslim League, and other religious political parties) of Bangladesh killed a total of 3 million unarmed Bangalees, molested and raped about 450,000 Bangalee women and, on the eve of the independence, murdered hundreds of leading intellectuals to spiritually cripple the nation. A crime far exceeds, in its atrocity and inhumanity, the crimes of Hitler, Melosovitch, the nazis and the fascists. Bring the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War Criminals to Justice. Sign the Petition
Bangladesh executed 5 former soldiers on 27 January 2010 for leading a 1975 coup that killed our Father of the Nation, Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman: This video is documenting (BBC Interview) how the killers plan their mission and what was the roll of Ziaur Rahman.
Colonel Faruk Rahman said that he mate with Gen. Ziaur Rahman on 20th March 1975 evening, and informed him about a plan of killing Mujib, Gen. Zia replied to him “I am a senior officer I can not do such a thing but if you, junior officers want to kill him, go ahead“. Doesn't it mean that General Zia ordered his junior officer to kill Bangabandhu?
A simple question to the people of Bangladesh and rest of the world, if an Army General knows the complot plan of killing country's political leader, what could be his first duty? Yes, every conscious people would say, arrest those who worked on a plan to kill instead of doing that he ordered them to go ahead. So, the real murderer is Gen. Zia. We want that, nation should know the real history. And if it is possible Bangladesh government should set a truth commission to find out the facts.

21 February
International Mother Language Day
The UNESCO has proclaimed February 21 as the International Mother Language Day. The proclamation came in the form of a resolution unanimously adopted at the plenary of the UNESCO at its headquarters in Paris in November 1999.
The first International Mother Language Day event was opened on February 21, 2000 in Paris by the Director-General of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura who stressed that "by deciding to celebrate mother tongues, UNESCO's Member States wished to recall that languages are not only an essential part of humanity's cultural heritage, but the irreducible expression of human creativity and of its great diversity."
Highlighting the fact that close to 6000 languages are estimated to be spoken in today's world, Mr Matsuura said: "They testify to humanity's astounding ability to create tools of communication, to its perception and reflection. They are the mirror of the souls of the societies in which they are born and they reflect the history of their contacts. In this sense, it could be said that all languages are cross-bred."
